2026 Miami F1 sprint results: Norris wins, Bortoleto DSQ

Lando Norris led a McLaren one-two in the 19-lap Miami sprint ahead of Oscar Piastri, with Charles Leclerc third. Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s five-second penalty dropped him to sixth, while Gabriel Bortoleto was disqualified for a technical infringement.

Lando Norris led home McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri to win the 19-lap Miami Formula 1 sprint on May 2, 2026, as the classification was reshaped post-race by penalties and a disqualification. The reigning world champion, who on Friday became the first non-Mercedes driver to take a pole position in 2026, controlled the sprint from lights to flag. Charles Leclerc completed the podium for Scuderia Ferrari HP.

The result marked McLaren’s second consecutive Miami sprint one-two, with Piastri keeping Leclerc at bay in the closing laps to secure the team’s clean sweep.

Championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli crossed the line fourth but received a five-second penalty for repeatedly exceeding track limits, which dropped him to sixth. George Russell was promoted to fourth and Max Verstappen to fifth after the penalty was applied.

Lewis Hamilton finished seventh, while Pierre Gasly claimed the final sprint point in eighth.

Two drivers failed to take the start: Nico Hulkenberg following an engine failure on his way to the grid, and Arvid Lindblad. Post-race, Gabriel Bortoleto was disqualified for a technical infringement, promoting the field from 12th upward by one place; the order below reflects the revised classification.
